My handsome husband

I have always thought Jesse is handsome. I love looking into his big blue eyes, with his long eye lashes, as he smiles at me. I like the contours of his face, his strong jaw line, blond eye brows, and always pink cheeks. I have never seen anything wrong with his face. And yet, since I have known him, he has been extremely self-conscious. He rarely smiles in pictures, 'embarrassed' of his smile. (I for one, am just always so happy to see one of his precious smiles, that I don't think anything of it!)

Today, that changed.

Jesse just called me, and told me that his dentist appointment took a slight change in direction. He went to go get molds of his teeth, and devise a plan for dental work over the next year to straighten his teeth. Instead, he left with his top teeth in braces! :)

When I spoke with him, he sounded excited, though he did make mention that he is going to have to work to get over his NEW self-consciousness. I know it is not the norm to see adults with braces, but it is certainly not unheard of. And if a few months of braces will give him a (more) beautiful, perfect smile...easing any other self-consciousness, then I am all for it.

I may not have a single "smiling" picture of him over the next few months, but after this is all over, he promised he will forever be "all smiles" in pictures. That is something I am eager to experience.

Please join me in praying for his dentist, the quick and efficient moving of his teeth, his own confidence throughout the process, and a beautiful result in the end!
