T-minus 1 month= 11 months!

We are in the final countdown. In fact, I'm not sure what I was doing on the 21st, but I totally forgot to take his picture on the actual 11 month day...this was taken about a week afterwards when I looked up and realized, oops!

But nevertheless, here is my (growing) little man at 11 months old!

I think I said it last month too, but boy howdy is it getting difficult to take this picture! Wesley is constantly on the move these days, typically headed in my direction, so I literally have to get all my "props" ready, turn on the camera, get it in focus, quickly put Wesley into place, and then attempt to get his attention for the 3 seconds he will sit still... it takes speed, agility, and skill, and clearly from the blur in my pictures, I simply do not have it!

I'm a little low on pictures this month. It has been busy and I have not been the best at remembering to take pictures.

Wesley continues to love playing with his big sister. Ryleigh has suddenly seemed to realize that Wesley is a potential threat to her toys and has been using the word "mine!" in a high pitched squeal throughout the day. Once she squeals at him, he tends to melt into a puddle on the floor, doubled-over, and begins dropping big 'ole crocodile tears. I watch as I see the sigh of surrender from Ryleigh, and the huff as she hands over a toy. (At least most days...) Something tells me the process of learning to share is about to get ugly around here!
We have spent a lot of time outside, soaking up the sun and enjoying the water before it gets cool again. Not that you can tell my children's fair skin...I'm slightly dramatic when it comes to sunscreen. 50 SPF all the way!! And "getting cool again?" What am I talking about?! We live in Texas, for crying out loud. We still have months of this hot weather before we move down into the warm temperatures. Not that the kiddos mind.
Wesley is getting braver creeping around. He doesn't seem to mind one bit if the surface is wet or slippery. Pools, bath tubs, playing in the shower...the scarier it is for Mom, the more fun it is for Wesley!
Oh- a new developmental step! Well, I'm not sure if it is an official "step," but it counts as progress in my book. Wesley has not only started clapping his hands (finally), but also he does it when associated with certain songs/rhymes. He just up-and-started clapping when Ryleigh and I were doing Pat-A-Cake with him one night, and we got so excited that now he does it all the time! And if I start to sing, "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands!" he will clap right along! Yay!
The boy has learned that the most fun toys are actually not toys. In fact, most days he will not play with his toys very much at all. But, if he finds something else, like a magazine, a library book, or something else he can destroy, ohhhh then he is entertained for hours!

I know I'm biased and I say it every month. Cutest. Boy. EVER. :)
