Jesse and I made an agreement. I would try a spin class with him, and he would give me a massage. (The things I do to get a massage...ridiculous.) Honestly, I was kind of excited, though genuinely scared. On the way to the gym my stomach was in knots, nervous, that I was going to die.
It was hard, I am not going to lie. My entire body was dripping in sweat within 10 minutes of beginning the class. I tried my best to keep up, standing up, speeding up, "adding a load," and anything else the instructor said. At one point, she was walking around trying to help people with technique and she kept telling me to use my hamstrings...I finally looked up at her, sweat falling off my face, and huffed, "I promise, I am trying."
I knew I would be sore. After all, anytime you try something new and use new muscle groups you can expect to feel them the next day. My legs have not been sore though. At all. Weird. However, I feel like I broke my butt. Is that possible?? Can you get a stress fracture in your tailbone for sitting on a bike for an hour? And technically, I was not sitting the entire hour...it was strange. When we would be sitting, my butt would hurt so bad that I was aching for another standing sequence. Then when she would shift to a standing position, my legs were shaking so badly that they would give way underneath me. Pathetic, right? The worst part about the whole thing was the other people taking the class. Ladies who had 30+ years on me...just chugging along. Men who weighed twice as much as me...standing and cycling to the beat of the music. And I was dying.
But, clearly, I survived. I don't think my butt will ever be the same. I have been sitting on Ryleigh's boppy the past day and a half, and I still cannot find relief. I don't know if I will be able to try this class again.
Depends on how good my massage feels. =)

It's called your 'sit' bone (a [part of the tailbone) that is sore, it might have been the position of the bike, or the bike seat, or a combo of things, but it goes away eventually, I promise :)
Congrats on your workout! You're a stronger woman than me!
BTW, I visit your page about once a week or so from Andrea (Dickens) Vick's page. And I started my own blog last month, if you would like to check it out.

Ok, I've done a spinning class (that's right, "A," as in 1) and thought I was going to die. Good for you for getting through it. About half-way into the one I went to, I think I hallucinated that I was on the Tour de France and almost passed out into the guy next to me. Fun stuff.
